2 YEAR HEALTH GUARANTEE

The BREEDER guarantees:

  • BREEDER strives to produce the healthiest, most sound pups available. BREEDER proudly guarantees all puppies against life threatening or quality of life-compromising disease or an obvious or debilitating congenital or genetic defect for two (2) years from the date of the PUPPY’s birth. This period is considered adequate time for a gene based illness to present itself.
  • BREEDER DOES NOT require the return of the puppy in order to receive a replacement puppy in the case of a genetic defect claim. BREEDER does not expect a good pet owner to relinquish a beloved pet, especially if it was ill. However, if a PUPPY from BREEDER is found to have a genetic defect, as defined below, the PUPPY must be spayed or neutered (if not already altered). In addition, BUYER must exercise good judgment in conjunction with advice of BUYER’s Veterinarian, and put the PUPPY down if the defect is severe enough to cause the PUPPY considerable pain or significantly diminish the PUPPY’S quality of life.
  • The above-described PUPPY is free of communicable disease and free of obvious and genetic defects at the time of the sale, said genetic defects to include organ defect, hip dysplacia, thyroid disease, vWD, Addison’s disease, Sebaceous Adenitis, and Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA). THIS HIP DYSPLACIA GUARANTEE IS VOID FOR ANY FEMALE BRED BEFORE TWO (2) YEARS (24 MONTHS) OF AGE.
  • If the PUPPY should be diagnosed with a listed genetic defect within the first two (2) years of life, BREEDER will provide a replacement PUPPY of the same sex and quality from the next available litter or the litter of the BUYER’S choice. A replacement PUPPY will only be granted after the affected PUPPY has been spayed/ neutered, (if not already altered). The BREEDER is not responsible for any costs associated with diagnosis and treatment of genetic disease or defect.
  • The BREEDER reserves the right to have the PUPPY examined by a second veterinarian of the BREEDER’S choice at the expense of the BUYER, for the purpose of a second opinion regarding any claims under this HEALTHY PUPPY GUARANTEE. In the case of hip/elbow dysplasia, the claim must be accompanied by a statement from the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) or a board-certified veterinary orthopedic specialist confirming that the PUPPY does have moderate to severe dysplastic hip joints. In the case of PRA, the claim must be accompanied by a statement from a board certified veterinary ophthalmologist stating that the PUPPY has been diagnosed with PRA.
  • All claims to this HEALTHY PUPPY GUARANTEE must be accompanied by a statement from BUYER’S veterinarian on the veterinary clinic’s letterhead, accompanied by a copy of the receipt from BUYER’S original “new puppy” vet visit to be considered valid. This HEALTHY PUPPY GUARANTEE is not transferable and is valid only for the original BUYER.
  • Said PUPPY has received all age-appropriate shots and vaccinations.
  • A record of the vaccination history of the PUPPY is supplied to the BUYER at the time of the delivery of the PUPPY.
  • Upon receipt of proof of the spaying or neutering of the PUPPY by the age of 1 years old, BREEDER will provide the applicable registration applications and/or pedigree.
  • The BREEDER has followed an approved worming program to eradicate internal parasites, which are common in most all puppies. Often these parasites lie dormant until stimulated by the puppy undergoing stress, such as a change of environment in its young life. If your puppy tests positive for any internal parasites once you take possession, it is the BUYER’S responsibility to manage the control and eradication of the parasites at the BUYER’S expense.
  • The BREEDER has treated the PUPPY for ectoparasites (fleas, ticks, etc). Should an ectoparasite be discovered once the BUYER has taken possession of the PUPPY the BREEDER assumes no responsibility for treatment or eradication.
  • That the BREEDER has done everything reasonably appropriate to produce a healthy, sound PUPPY by breeding only known, healthy dams and sires, and by providing the PUPPY with a quality, veterinary-approved diet, exercise program, socialization, and veterinary care.
  • The BREEDER can only offer an educated guess regarding the predicted adult size of your doodle. Hybrid genetics are unpredictable, and the BREEDER cannot and will not be held accountable for the mature size of the PUPPY.
  • That the BREEDER will supply the BUYER with an appropriate vaccination, exercise, dietary supplement and feeding schedule at the time of delivery of the PUPPY to the BUYER.
  • To provide support and consultation to the BUYER for the life of the PUPPY. BREEDER does not agree to offer veterinary care for the life of the PUPPY, however.
  • The BREEDER can offer no further guarantees once the care of
the puppy is no longer under the BREEDER’S control and therefore does not assume any liability for any injury to said PUPPY after delivery to the BUYER.
  • The BREEDER makes no express or implied warranties or guarantees
other than those set forth in this CONTRACT OF SALE AND HEALTHY PUPPY GUARANTEE.

The BUYER agrees and understands:

  • The BREEDER guarantees the PUPPY to be healthy and free of communicable disease and genetic defect. To activate this HEALTHY PUPPY GUARANTEE, BUYER must have the PUPPY examined by BUYER’S Veterinarian within five (5) days of physical possession. Failure by the BUYER to have the PUPPY examined within the above-mentioned time frame voids the Agreement and Guarantee in it’s entirety and frees the BREEDER from any further responsibility towards the health of said puppy.
  • If the PUPPY is found by the BUYER’S veterinarian to be unhealthy, but not suffering from a life-threatening or quality of life-compromising disease or an obvious or debilitating congenital or genetic defect, the BUYER’S veterinarian is to contact the BREEDER or the BREEDER’S veterinarian (upon request of the BREEDER) to discuss necessary treatment and allocation of payment of expenses, therefore. The breeder will reimburse the cost of any medications deemed necessary and agreed upon to restore the PUPPY to health, to include IV re-hydration therapy, but breeder will not reimburse any exam and diagnostic fees or hospitalization costs unless agreed to prior to administration. Should BREEDER not agree to pay for such costs and/or should the BUYER and BREEDER not reach an agreement as to allocation of payment of such costs, then the provisions in the immediately following paragraph regarding refund and replacement shall apply. Authorization by email is acceptable. Depending upon the extent or severity of the illness, BREEDER reserves the right to replace the PUPPY.
  • If the PUPPY is found by the BUYER’S veterinarian to suffer from a life-threatening or quality of life-compromising disease or an obvious or debilitating congenital or genetic defect, the PUPPY will be returned to the BREEDER immediately, and the purchase price refunded or, at the BREEDER’S discretion, a replacement PUPPY (of equal value) will be provided. BREEDER will pay no treatment costs for congenital defects if BUYER chooses to keep the PUPPY.
  • Deadline for the implementation of this REFUND is 30 days after taking possession.
  • IF PET ONLY:  The PUPPY is to be spayed or neutered by the age of 1 years old. If the BUYER chooses not to spay or neuter the PUPPY within the requisite 1 year, the BUYER understands that all aspects of this GUARANTEE OF A HEALTHY PUPPY AGREEMENT are null and void.** Extension negotiable in writing***
  • That the BUYER is to maintain the good condition of the health of the PUPPY, and to provide annual examinations, vaccinations, heartworm test, and any other reasonable and usual procedures necessary to assure good health. In addition, BUYER agrees to appropriately treat any illness or injury to the PUPPY that may occur, in order to maintain the PUPPY’s good health. Failure to properly vaccinate the PUPPY may result in severe illness and death from preventable diseases and constitutes gross negligence on the part of the owner.
  • That it is in the best interests of the PUPPY to supplement the PUPPY’s diet with a good supplement like MISSING LINK and/or NU Vet tablets or powder. For the Large breed dogs, Daily doses of Glucosamine should be given starting at the age of 6 months.
  • That there are many factors that can influence the PUPPY’s growth and development. The BUYER assumes the responsibility of implementing the vaccination, exercise and feeding schedule supplied by the BREEDER. MOST PARTICULARLY, the BUYER agrees to keep the PUPPY slim throughout the PUPPY’S normal growth period.
  • The BUYER agrees to provide a suitable fenced area for this puppy.
  • That if, at any time, the BUYER cannot take proper care of the PUPPY, the BUYER must contact the BREEDER. The BREEDER will have the first opportunity to either take the PUPPY back or assist the BUYER in finding a suitable home for the PUPPY.
